So I guess it's time to let you know about it since I've done at least 20 sets of carbs, and other parts using this product. I don't jump right in and tell folks about new ideas until I've used them for a long time with positive results. That meant that the solution rinsed of well and did not leave any film inside or out. Another plus is that even letting them dry after a light rinse with water, there was no residue left on the surface. This was a game changer from what I'd been seeing. Not only did they come out really clean, but the dirty solution did not turn the bodies dark even with the tank temps at 165+ degrees and the solution being completely dark and dirty. I put several broken, dirty and unusable carb bodies in the sonic and let it run from for the entire day. I had not heard of this before, so I ordered a gallon of it from Amazon and gave it a full on test. It was made for cleaning aircraft and machinery with no corrosive side effects and is water based. It's a cheaper alternative and does rinse out completely with water.Ībout 6 to 8 months ago I was informed by a customer that he had used Simple Green Extreme with good results and suggested I give it a try. It proved to be a cheaper alternative and always broke down the debris inside and out from the carbs, but took longer. Changing the solution when it's dirty has always proven to be the safe way to go so the carbs didn't turn dark when the solution gets dirty.Ī year or so ago I started using the Dawn dish soap with VERY good results. But were talking a full day in the sonic with extremely corroded and dirty carbs that need deeper and longer cleaning times. But, if the carbs are left in the sonic cleaner with dirty solution, it will turn the carb bodies dark. For years I've been using the Simple Green HD Pro that says it's safe for aluminum.
